Setting up Darktable in Gimp Preferences to be ram editor
#1
I am trying to add darktable in import and export preferences in Gimp 2.9.36. I am using OS  Catalina. I think there is a way to open raw file in gimp and have it shell out to darktable. Please see attached photo.

To put more photos but this time photos that people can actually see, follow this link > https://www.gimp-forum.net/misc.php?action=help&hid=11
Or click there as shown in the photo below  Big Grin

What version of Gimp is that ?   Use Help -> About

I think there have been issues with Gimp and Darktable recently (not sure about that). Maybe the raw loader plugin broken, however I think if you get the latest version it works.

When it does work you will find an entry in (MacOS Gimp menu) -> Preferences -> Image Import & Export
I use Nufraw but when working Darktable is in there Ok got Darktable 4.6.1 + Gimp 2.10.36 in a linux VM and it looks like this.

The best place to ask is https://discuss.pixls.us where Darktable devs hang out. They should know what works with MacOS (not many MacOS users on this forum)

If and when it does work, Open the raw image file in Gimp, the image is sent to Darktable. Do any adjustments in Darktable. Close Darktable and the image is sent back to open in Gimp.
