I have studied different methods of colorising a black and white photo. Can any one tell me the best way to colorise a black and white portrait in GIMP 2.10.

I wrote a tutorial on colourising photographs. Perhaps you may find it useful.
It is fairly labour intensive, but capable of producing good results.

Thank you for the  link. I went through the pdf. It is very nice. But I would be happy if there was video explaining the steps in detail. Is there one.

I really like David's tutorial on coloring photographs. I really appreciate the technique used by him in the tutorial.

I too like David's tutorial. The Link of the video you sent by JBcolourisation is very useful. Thanks a lot.
