Some Free Fonts
#1
Apparently the site http://abfonts.freehostia.com/ is making its fonts available for download for free:

"Consider all fonts downloaded from abfonts as free for personal, non-commercial use only unless otherwise specified in the newsgroup message, in an accompanying file and/or in the font itself. Get in touch directly with font authors to inquire about the use of a font for commercial purposes.''

It seems that a typography studio closed down and without being able to sell their fonts anymore, they decided to make them available for free. But I am not sure about this information.

They make it as hard as possible to download a font... NOT even allowing you to open a tab... thus you have to go and back between between pages non stop just to see if you like a font...

Anyway Thanks Krikor for the info Wink

PixLab,

I completely agree with you!
Perhaps this other link will make things a little easier.

Thanks Krikor, Yes way-way better!
But those are the OPTI Fonts, not the same as the ones made in the: "we prepared a list of all fonts on the site" Wink

Anyway I just did all manually on that famous page that I can't even put the link here without a redirection to the main page, IMO there is nothing to lose at all if you don't want to do link by link like me Wink

It is not hard to download fonts if you do it their way...

The problem is mostly that the site is designed without a page for each font, instead they use Javascript to update a frame in the home page. Yes, it's a cardinal sin, because you cannot give a URL to a specific font.

If you want to open fonts in several tabs, you can duplicate the tab, then select anther font in the new tab.

Btw, it's not some typesetting agency, it looks like fonts collected on  the usenet newsgroup alt.binaries.fonts. But of course, Usenet is known only by boomers.
