(Version 3.0.4; Windows 11)....searching for tutorial enabling me to "pour" some text into an oval shape (ala FORD)....

With respect, please do not post with large coloured text. There is no need for it.

Nothing automatic that will "pour" into a shape.  You can use the curve-bend filter

Not wonderful but deforms to a shape determined by the user.

   

There are some great path tools for Gimp 2.10 (but not yet Gimp 3) that give better results. Also not Gimp but the Inkscape vector drawing tool will deform text that you can import into Gimp 3.
