Textlayers not editable anymore
#1
Hey there,

I'm having a big problem.

I'm using a template to edit text on a background photo with already set Textlayers.
All of a sudden the layers are not choosable by leftclicking anymore and I can only edit the layers name, not the text itself.
I didn't save the changes or anything it just suddenly didnt work anymore and now all several savings of the template have the same problem.

Any Idea what I did wrong? How to reverse it?

I read that by rotating or similar actions the layers get converted in to pixels or something and are not editable anymore, but if thats the case why did all change at once and stay
this way without saving the file?

Help would be REALLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance and have a nice day

Please help me fix this guysSad

Which version of Gimp and which operating system ?

If you save as a Gimp .xcf and the text information is still there then it can be reversed but some formatting is lost.

Reading your description that might not be the case. Can you post a Gimp .xcf file that shows the problem (dropbox or similar)

I'm using gimp 2.10.32 on a Windows 10 OS.
But my version looks drastically different from the one you are using in the video, which one is yours?
Mine doesn't show that pop up if i want to edit it again.

Same version except I use a light theme and linux operating system

No option to revert, then your text infoormation is probably gone for good.

It might be recoverable. Can you post one of your Gimp .xcf files.

Did you scale the image or use Image ➤ Canvas size?
