Welcome Screen Colour Theme

(gimp.css in the user folder does not work reliably, looks like it's overwritten by system files).
Did you do your theme as stand-alone? What when they add more features to GIMP? You'll have to update the theme then accordingly?
I'm still thinking about how to do the adaptions without the hassle on updates.

I have attached Jon1.zip file. This theme is specifically designed to have very clear text and Gimp Interface Window areas. Give it a try and let me know how your husband likes it and any possible improvements.

I have found a mistake on the Welcome> Personalize Window screen
The label "Color Scheme" should be Color Scheme varient", which has probably cause so confusion in this thread
I have created a new thread in General questions
Gimp 3.2.4 NO Color Theme in Welcome Screen> Personalise

Thank you. I'll check it out.
I've already managed to style GIMP to my husband's liking.

What I mean is: it would be easy to style things if the gimp.css in the user's profile worked and would not be overwritten. And if elements in the GIMP UI had an id that we could use for styling. I'm used to writing css from web site building. I can use the Gtk Inspector (well kind of).

It's not practical to just copy a style from the installation folder to my user's folder. I would have to track the changes when there are updates and start work again. Ideally gimp.css would work in a way that I just define the changes I need and that file is loaded last and reliably overwrites defaults.
