Many Gimp Filters have 'Presets' that default to 'last used'. You can also make your own presets and apply them again. Then you would only need to remember the sequence of filters used. You could also record this sequence with a pencil and notepad.

Applying filters like this is one of the original ideas behind Gimp scripts written in Scheme.
