One problem is your MacOS, does it have ghostscript installed and if it is there, is it compatible ?
One thing you could try is rename the file.eps to file.pdf and see if that opens.
It is probably a small image, for a one-off use an online converter, preferably to svg but it might just be a bitmap in a eps wrapper, then go for a png. Try some thing like https://www.freeconvert.com/eps-converter
