font samples
#1
Is there a sample file with many (or all) default fonts I can look at? For example, the same phrase--Hello, World!--is rendered in a number of fonts?

There used to be a script (for older versions of gimp, 2.6 etc; I don't know that there are any for vs 3 yet) to make one yourself, file or print out. Now you might just have to do it yourself.

EDIT: Gimp uses what's on your system.

I just found two places where you can look

Windows (C : ) >Windows > Fonts will show you your system fonts

Username > AppData > Roaming > Gimp > 3.0 > fonts will show your gimp files. Mine is empty as I haven't downloaded any for there yet

I think it's Render Font Map and it's still built into GIMP. You can press "/" to open the search box and search for it.

You can open the fonts dialog in Dockable dialogs > Fonts
