#1
There are tools for PS for creating  normal, displacement, bump maps, AO ..etc http://www.nmaker.com.br/tools.html

Is it possible to translate this in GIMP ? It's in .jsxbin format.

Maybe someone can, not me

Looking at your reference, you possibly want to start with the InsaneBump plugin http://registry.gimp.org/node/28638

looks like this http://i.imgur.com/muvJpIS.jpg

Regular Bump Maps, a standard Filters -> Map -> Bump Map

Making seamless is a bit of an art but resynthesizer is the starting point.
some binaries here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/gwc928wmwt..._32_64.zip

Dependency problems for this with my linux but might be worth a look for Win users.
Not Gimp, a standalone. https://github.com/kmkolasinski/AwesomeBump
