Filters > Map > Crop grid > Crop rectangle grid... (manual)

Or

Layers > Crop grid ...

Here is the second options.

Tested for the conditions:
Crop rectangle grid and Cropped grid from selection, and the plugin ran perfectly.

Just remembering that the menu for this plugin is found via Filters - Layers - Crop grid, and not in the Filters - Maps menu...
