printing incompatibilities
#1
I have a HP laptop running Windows 11 and using GIMP 2.10.
I was able to print photos to my old printer.
I am unable to print photos on my new photo printer CANON imagePROGRAF PRO-300.
Other photo software can print to my PRO-300 just not GIMP 2.10.
Any suggestions for getting GIMP 2.10 to print to my new printer?
Thanks.

Do you have a screenshot?
Do you use a plugin to print? if so which one?

I don't use any plugin, when I do in GIMP File ➤ Print... It's the "operating system" printing dialog, not a "GIMP" printing "window".
If I had more printers they would show as it's the OS printing dialog as you can see below.

Now I'm on Linux, I don't use Microsoft, but it should be similar.

Thanks. The error it was throwing was a width mismatch.
I'm using 4 x 6 paper with the printer expecting a 4 x 6 image and the computer sending a 4 x 6 image. (4 inches x 6 inches)
Upon further study I was able to use the Canon IJ Printer Assistant tool and disable width detection.
Now it works.
