Thanks for the reply, I did manage to find that setting. To be honest the software is such hard work to try and use as a beginner that its simply not worthwhile and I am abandoning it.

I will try a couple of others but it seems these open source programmes are designed only for experianced people that use them commercially or as a Very serious hobbist (or maybe I just dont have as much "spare" time as most?)

I would simply buy a recent version of photoshop (that works with W11) but I object to their subscription scheme where you "rent" the product for 3 years and then lose it; that is simply greed and pushes people to use pirated software. Their last lifetime product was the 2024 version but its not actually available anywhere. A couple of online stores Say they have it but if you are careful they have hidden notes saying "out of stock, will advise when it comes back in", which will be never since Adobe recalled it after 2025 was issued.
