On my website I apply SVG filters to black and white images.
The effect is a multitone effect achieved by gradient mapping the black and white image with feColorMatrix.

Normally I use black and white pictures with a high contrast for a better multitone effect, but sometimes still doesn't look good enough, so I might need to adjust other parameters then contrast.

What I want is to open a black and white image in Gimp, import my multitone svg filter and apply it to the image as a layer or otherwise so I can see the effect (I don't know if this is possible), and while the effect is on, change the contrast and other parameters of the black and white image to see the output with the filter on...

Any recommendations how to achieve this in Gimp (or in other software)?
I am not sure that Gimp can load an .svg file as a layer, and render the filter on the image just like browsers do.

I am trying to create a new file, using "Create from Clipboard", from a rectangular image on Clipboard but the image that is pasted is square. (ie only part of the image is displayed)
I have tried with several rectangular images with the same result.
It appears that my Gimp is defaulting to a square format.
How do I free it to respond to the dimensions of the image on clipboard.
(When I past the image to MS Word it pastes the correct dimensions)

Hello! Whenever I select a colour, it doesn't show up as that colour when I draw on the picture. It's either a less saturated form or a different colour entirely. My brush mode is set to normal, and I can't think of any other way to fix this. I'm using version 2.10.22. Thanks in advance!

So I was making some Minecraft art and I must have accidentally hit a hotkey or command that just made everything go away, except for the thing I was working on. No tool options, brush selectors, nothing. Does anyone know what key I hit to do this and if it will undo if I hit it again? Thanks.

I have a PDF sheet of aircraft decals. It is A3 size and I would like to take individual parts from it, keeping the scale, to fit onto an A4 sheet for watersliding.
I have tried cropping the parts and repasting them, but I cannot remove them from the complete sheet.
Is specific area removal from a PDF possible in Gimp 2.10 please.

Apophysis is a windows application made in delphi for creating, editing and rendering fractal flames. The creations can be saved in as png file with a transparent background and one can load the file in gimp.The version 202.09 is fast on my computer (windows 10 64 bit / intel core i7 / Nvidia Geforce 930 MX graphics card). The version 7x has more possibilities but is slow on my computer.

Hi I have a issue with gimp 2.10 whenever I save a indexed image it will automatically cut any unused colours. Since I am developing games my images should all use the same palette or it will cause issues. Can anyone help please.
