This is not working for me.
It creates a selection with sharp corners instead.

Anybody else experiencing this ? Bug ?

Best guess:

You make rectangular selection. You then apply rounded corners. You then apply (hit enter..) selection.

Adjust the selection (any amount, then back to original) after rounding the corners, then apply.

You assume correct and it works as proposed but thats not how it was in 2.8.
So is it a bug or am i doing it wrong ?

Clearly a bug, see https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/issues/1466

Workaround: if you do any further change to the selection (move or change the size by dragging a border) the new radius is taken in account).

I think it matters because of workflow.
Make a very accurate selection, try to add rounded corners but cant because i have to resize my carefull made selection.

For those who run in to this problem and do not want to be beat.

Use any of the selection position/size parameters, bump one up a pixel then immediately back down a pixel.

   

not a big problem.

Fiddle around with Tool Options. I see lots of settings there. I'm still learning the fine points of GIMP, so don't understand them all, but at least that does not slow me down with baggage from the way things were done in earlier versions.
