text tool
#1
After copying a text in OpenOffice, I cannot paste it into the text of the Text tool. Nothing happens but I receive the message underneath  (I translate French into English): "There is no image data in the clipboard".
Thank you for suggestions.

Works for me, if the text tool is in message editing mode (ie, its small on-canvas dialog is visible). Otherwise, I do get the message you mention. n other words, you don't paste text into Gimp, you paste text into the input field of the text tool.

Btw, since you mention using OpenOffice, don't expect the formatting (fonts and such) to be copied, the only thing that is copied is the raw text. If you need fancy text formatting, do it the other way, prepare images in Gimp, and insert them in an Office document.

I thank you for your response and suggestion of working.
Pasting by using, on Apple, Command-V does not work, small on-canvas dialog visible or not. If y do a right click, I get a menu containing 'Paste' and that works under the conditions I choose the text Tool in the Tool Box AND, as you told me, I click into the text (so that the small on-canvas dialog is visible).
Have a fine day and thanks a lot for your cooperation!
