GIMP 3.04: Image gets randomly cut off when exporting
#1
I'm making a paint scheme for a computer game called Nascar Racing 2003 Season, and used a template online to make one. I stopped in the middle of creating it to test it in-game, but when I export it and view it, for some reason, only the top left parts of the image seem to have been exported. Everything else in the image is transparent. I first tried exporting in .tga (since thats the file type needed for the game to accept it), then tried in .png, but that also showed the same results.

What shows in GIMP

What shows after exporting

What the .tga looks like in GIMP

This is the first time I've had a problem with GIMP bugging out with exporting like this. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Interesting Wink   I can reproduce that truncated exported png.   I do not know why, guessing it is the way Gimp 3 imports a PS layered file but that top layer group Mask (turn off) contains layers with no visibility property. Go down it and enable & turn off the layer visibility.

That works here, exporting as a png gives the full image.

Still not working for you ?   Then resort to the old trick. Go to the top of the stack, Layer -> New from Visible. Drag that "visible" layer into the tool box and it opens as a single layer for export.

I did look at opening in Gimp 2.10.38 and your .xcf file is type 23 (Gimp 3) I can edit that with a binary editor to type 13 ( gimp 2.10) and that works as far as exporting. Must be a Gimp 3 thing.

I loaded your xcf file into GIMP 3.2. 0-RC2 and the program saves the entire image as a png or tga file without any problem.

I had an image cut off on me only yesterday. I still had a selection active - I assumed that was the cause -
Do you have all selections turned off?
