Move tool very slow

Btw, I installed the 3.0.0 final, but that didn't make much of a difference. I am however on X11 and when I temporarily switched to Wayland the move tool got considerably smoother and faster. Unfortunately, Wayland on Mint is still experimental and, in my case, leads to all sorts of wonkiness.
