Unfortunately no, it wouldn't work.
The string related to Rawtherapee, as well as the one related to Darktable appear automatically during the installation process of the programs.
If it doesn't work for you I can only advise you to try to re-install Rawtherapee 5.11 first and then Gimp 3.0.2
Make sure you have Rawtherapee 5.11 because for me who use Darktable it didn't work with version 4.8 and instead works with 5.1.
Eventually also try Darktable.

Sorry but I did some tests and I verified that:
Setting rawtherapee as default to load RAW files in Gimp the corresponding string does not move to the first place as I said, but the setting is correct anyway.
Unfortunately with Rawtherapee 5.11 it does not work for me either, it gives me two error messages and the program does not load the RAW file.
If you only need it as a plug-in to load RAW files try with Darktable, it works for me,
I have tried reinstalling but no joy. Also, my Mac won't install dark table as it cannot verify where it came from. Macbooks are nice, but Windows is so much easier
I have the option of opening in RT then sending to Gimp, that works fairly well. I will have another go at Darktable though
