To review, just in case I may have failed to mention this, the Gimp.org 3.0.6 AppImage works fine, even though it is practically useless for me.
All the custom AppImages, which are 2.10.38 and 3.0.6 and the recent cut down 3.0.6 you provided, are unable to receive any type of keyboard input, not just the renaming of files for Export As or Save As as originally stated, it's every input box.
Keyboard works as expected with every other program and input on current install of Mint. Problem began only with update of Mint from 22.2 to 22.3 Cinnamon; no problems whatsoever before this.
Very soon, I'll try the Mint 22.3 Repository 2.10.36 package install and see if that works and let you know how it goes.
Very strange, if you looked at that little video I posted then exporting with a name , using dialogs is working with that Mint 22.3 VM Maybe have a close look at what is installed on your system. That Mint 22.3 install is from an ISO not an upgrade 22.2 -> 22.3 maybe that is the problem.
