There are a couple of icons at the bottom of the Text tool options . One is Save tool options (far left). There is also restore tool option (next to it).
This is on 3.2. Play with it and see what you can do.
Just found this too. Pops up when you click on save preset. This is where you can name it etc. After you only have to click on restore text preset and the name of the preset you want.
