good day dear @Rich2005 good day dear @denzjos
first of all: once again many thanks for the reply and for sharing your ideas, thoughts and your expecience. This is just overwhelming.
well i ve learned a lot in this thread - also about the LCH - (where this term - stands for Lightness, Chroma and Hue)
I want to do things with this - and i want to do them in GIMP.
what if i want to apply the LCH-Things to a image where we have grayscales : see here for example:
how to apply the LCH-Ideas to this image - how to proceed!?
cf : see the link here to the according description: https://www.prasannamestha.com/blog/scie...-gradients
should we work here -with two different layers/( or masks) ?
How - and that is the question - how would you do this!?
on which way and method would you apply the scale of various colors to the above mentioned - b&w - image?
Look forward to hear from you
greetings`

Quote:(1) The gimp palette format is very popular. It is a simple table of RGB values. You can add a text note after the RGB values if you want. I used a text editor and cut up your text but you can make a new palette using the palette editor and add colours one-at-a-time.
Looking at your post, it might be a palette file from some other editor. Gimp can import various formats see; https://docs.gimp.org/3.0/en/gimp-palette-dialog.html
(2) Clicking on a palette, brings up the palette editor
(3) Click on an entry in the palette editor to set the FG or BG color
