Extracting a "Dotted Network" skeleton from a glowing raster image for vector editing

This from yesterday where you asked about separating dots and connecting lines.

To show how difficult that might be, a very-very simple chart and one way to proceed.

Select the dots using a round brush and the quickmask  see: https://docs.gimp.org/3.0/en/gimp-image-...utton.html  Obviously time consuming even with a simple chart.

From that selection make two images one of the selected dots and one with selection inverted (the lines)

They are used in inkscape (1) Dots color traced and (2) Lines center line traced.

   

The source and svg attached just as a simple example. Remember to unzip it.

I know you will not take any notice of me, but asking how-to is not as good as experimenting yourself.
