rich2005 and Malsasa: Hi! Yes, CMYK mode is still a work in progress. It's "functional", but not a great user experience yet.
Currently I'm reviewing a lot of the internals and trying to make them more "color space neutral" - for instance, all the layer mode code assumes the input and output is RGBA only, which means the Key/Black of CMYK is treated like transparency. After that, I'll be reviewing performance and trying to get that better. Hopefully we'll have a version of it ready for the first 3.3 dev release, depending on when that is.
