You will probably have problems with WindowsXP however:
Up to Gimp 3.2.2 the Windows installer contains both 64 bit and 32 bit versions and installs correctly.
All the Windows installers are available.
Start off here: https://download.gimp.org/gimp/ chose a version folder and (eventually) it takes you to the installers.
Example for Gimp 2.8 https://download.gimp.org/gimp/v2.8/windows/
This a Windows 7 32bit (VM) and Gimp 2.8
I did try a Gimp 2.10 and that failed to start with a missing dll error. Going to be even more probable for WindowsXP. I honestly do not know what works these days. Obviously one time in the past I probably used WinXP and Gimp 2.2
All you can do is try and see what happens.
An alternative is an old PortableApps Gimp. These are 32 bit for compatibility. Get an old version and try it.
