Is the setup same as previous? bluetooth mouse, tablet - what sort of connection, wired/wireless ?
Have you considered that it might be a hardware rather than Gimp problem
I believe Krita works well with a tablet, might be worth a try.
I added issues, but the erase problem continues.

Nautilus has been a bit strange lately, otherwise everything else is working correctly.
