Thanks for that, good advice. I have a whole folder of how-to compile Gimp + a couple of auto-mated scripts, unfortunately tend to be out of date and fail.
Agreed. There was difficulty with Gimp 2.10.14 for bionic, GEGL again. I do not expect a Gimp 2.10.18 for that. I hope there is eventually one for focal and it comes with some backward compatibility for python2.
No rush here, still on kubuntu 18.04. I usually wait some time for wrinkles to be ironed out before replacing the OS.
