Go to Filters > G'MIC a window opens, go to Patterns > Truchet, make your truchet as you wish, (thickness, smoothness, background color and so)

   

Then just like @Sallyanne's nice trick ➤ play with blending mode (see below), duplicate the layer to amplify the effect as needed
