This one might be a good alternative for you. The appimage from

https://github.com/aferrero2707/gimp-appimage/releases/

latest release https://github.com/aferrero2707/gimp-app...4.AppImage

This already includes nufraw and gimp_gmic_qt and as I understand it, user plugins can now be added.
