Taking background out of photo
#2
I've copied the image and used used the Fuzzy select tool on the second layer with all the options of the fuzzy select tool unselect. Then I copied the original image a few time and choose the screen layer mode to brighten up the image (other tools are possible to do this). I've done this to select the things that the fuzzy select tool has not selected. I always use the Ellipse Select tool to do this. If everything was selected I made a transparant layer under the original image and add an alpha channel. Then I've deleted the selected area. Then I selected the face, shrank the election by 1 and feathered with value 2.
