Hi!
I would like to transform a picture like this:
http://urszulakozak.com/wp-content/uploa...awa-11.jpg

in something like this:
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/27IA3I3zEUM/maxresdefault.jpg
or like this:
https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1xl3tIFXXX...000158.jpg

I tried a lot of Gimp filters, also search tutorials but I never reach the "porcelain" quality of the aimed photos...

Thank you!

There's a guy on gimpchat, who specializes in height maps.
He goes by the name of PegLeg44.

But I understand he is using the software delivered with the carving machine... not Gimp... Sad

Interesting... not 100% what I am looking for, but it could be a good start. As soon I convince Gimp to run that 8bf filter (I put Pspi.exe abd porcelain.8bf  in plugin directory but I receive incompatibility errors...)

The gmic plugin has a depth map constructor.

But first are you convinced of the suitability of that image? I think it need a solid back ground, and even maybe not too suitable.

Pull the color curve up to see the background - lots of junk there. screenshot https://i.imgur.com/ghIY1Lr.jpg

And the original with a new black background https://i.imgur.com/frEaJMT.jpg

This is the gmic dialogue for depth map https://i.imgur.com/t4nqswP.jpg

And with a little sharpening produces this:
