Fonts not installing into Gimp
#1
Hi there all , I am trying to install fonts into Gimp using the likes of  Da font.Com and font river on a new desktop. I had no problems whatsoever when I was downloading on my laptop but it appears that they are not going in using the same process. Normally windows 10 opens up the file you press install and hey presto they appear in Gimp once you reopen it.

Any suggestions.

I often wonder why Win users automatically install fonts into the already overcrowded Windows system. However, that is up to the user.

Now that the font is installed not much point putting in
C:\Users\your-name\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\fonts

It looks like there might be some problem with a recent Windows update.

Apart from that, try rebuilding the Windows font cache. Some details here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5445...-10-a.html

And the Gimp cache as well: https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Window...workaround

I ran that batch file in my Win 10 VM just to make sure it did not destroy the whole system. The fonts were working ok anyway so I could see no difference.

Did you try putting the fonts in C:\Users\your-name\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\fonts ? see if they show up. Final thought, these usually come zipped, you did unzip to get the something.ttf file.

Ultimate solution, dump Windows and install linux

No need to restart Gimp. In the Fonts list dialog, ckick the < icon at the top right, then Fonts menu>Rescan font list.
