GIMP 2.10.14 doesn't work on MacOS Big Sur
#1
Question
I updated my MacBook last night to Big Sur and tried to use Gimp but the program didn't work at all. I'm not able to select by color, Fill with BG/FG nor am I able to edit any images. I've reinstalled the program multiple times in hopes of it working again but all failed, is anyone else facing anything like this? I've updated my laptop before as well but never faced any problems like this. Please let me know ASAP! thanks   Smile

Looks like the bug reports have already begun. https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues/5917

Report the problem there.

Not many MacOSX / 11 users here. You might have to wait a while for a compatible Gimp update. From reports the developers have lost their only Mac person.

Hy, OK now we are 12  Wink

Got the same problem as described above when I start to work with 20.10.14 + Big Sur.
I locked in here in hope to get updates ...

Same problem - This is REALLY serious for me, basically bringing a major project to a crashing halt - if I fuzzy select, it only stays while the mouse is down so GIMP is basically useless.

By all means add your comments here. However no Gimp developers use / visit this forum . Reports of bugs go to

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues

From there this:
Quote:unfortunately our only macOS contributor has been absent these last few months. So he was unable to take care of the new set of restrictions which came with this brand new release.

Has any Mac big sur user tried the Partha version ? https://www.partha.com/

I'm assuming not, I'll try out the Partha version and update how it goes.

Hi, I own a Macbook pro early 2015. I have some issues with GIMP, but it's still usable with Big Sur. I am using v. 2.10.12

Maybe you could try this version meanwhile we're waiting for the new one.

I hope it helps!

Where can I download GIMP v2.10.12? I've looked in the directory with old GIMP builds but couldn't find v2.10.12   Undecided
