GIMP Language Translation for Beginners
#1
I am doing a school project for Open Source Software module, and trying to translate GIMP to Swahili Language. Can anyone help me on the way to fork the GIMP, and how to translate the original GIMP software to a new language

It all starts here: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/blob...EADME.i18n

You don't really need to fork Gimp since Gimp is built to accommodate many translations.

In simple term, i am a noob. Don't have a clue on where to start and what to do. I already reached to that "README" page and read all but to me, i don't understand what to use to do the translation, what files to use and e'thing. So, sir, if you know, please assist me.

My advice is ask one of the Gimp developers.

https://developer.gnome.org/ bottom of the page various ways to contact them. I believe they quite like IRC, otherwise there is a mailing list.

If you look here: https://github.com/GNOME/gimp/commits you will see the sort of work involved in adding a translation.
