Help with coloring comic books

Hi! Is anyone here doing comic book coloring in GIMP? I'm doing just fine with flatting, but I wanted to color a comic book page from start to finish. I cant find any decent tutorials on YouTube, but I found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_uNnawaBmE

The problem? It's for Photoshop, and I am having difficult time translating this workflow to GIMP. Does anyone here can help?

Not using that tutorial there is something in GMIC-Qt if you have it.
Under testing - Reptorian - Autofill Coloring Book. He has others in there as well.
Don't think it does shadowing though
