Word of caution. Gimp 3.1 is where they they test things for something that will be published as Gimp 3.2. So not for the faint of the heart (and if you use it, please report any bugs...). In fact they will probably put out a few more editions of 3.0 before 3.2 is published.

Ofnuts: True, though it should be much less of a jump compared to GIMP 2.10 -> 3.0. We're also pushing out some features that we really want UX/UI feedback on early (linked layers and vector layers in particular), so I'm hoping more people will try out the 3.1 releases and give feedback.

Is there a branch to continue maintain 3.0.x for a while or is the next update going to be 3.1 or 3.2?

Ofnuts: Right now the main branch is 3.1.1 (though we could always create a gimp-3-0 branch before the last tag).
I think the idea is to fully commit to the new development schedule and release 3.2 soon (as in a few months) rather than having a safety net. In fact, we may be releasing a 3.1.2 development build in the next few weeks. |
