Toolbox at the top, not vertically
#1
Hi,
I have been a GIMP user for many years but what happened today is new to me. I accidentally undocked the Tool Options so then I automatically tried to revert it by unclicking and clicking the single-window mode. However, the Toolbox did not return to the top with the tools in several rows but the tools are in all in one vertical line alongside the image block, and even disappearing out of the screen so many cannot be used at all... It seems it is not possible to drag it to where I would like it to be. Will you please give me some advice on how to return the toolbox back to the original position, i.e. Toolbox in the top left corner, Tool Options under it, and not one on the left and the other parallel to it?
Vertical toolbox layout

Thanks!

PS: Thanks to paynekj for referring me here from the old forum :-)

The short answer is use: Edit -> Preferences -> Interface -> Window Management and click on Reset Saved Window Positions to Default Values Then ok that, close Gimp and restart.

That gets the default 3 window mode back. For single window mode use Windows -> Single Window mode

A little longer with explanation why it might happen:

Thanks, it has worked perfectly well. Moreover, the video has shown a few more tricks I didn't know about before Smile
