files missing after installing gimp 21.10.38
#1
I just installed Gimp 2.10.38 on my new PC, and when I start it up, I get the following messages: libtiff-5.dll and libnghttp3-9.dll not found.
Where can I find these files, and in which folder should I put this files ?

Which Gimp 2.10.38 did you download ? Assume that it is the most recent gimp-2.10.38-setup-1.exe,  although I have also tried the earlier version - both ok and start up without error.

Did you install anything else connected with Gimp 2.10 ? - a plugin for example.

The files that come with the installation are libtiff-6.dll and libnghttp2-14.dll both 64 and 32 bit versions as this search:

A bit of a search and maybe a gmic issue see: https://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=21568#p295219

If you still have that message, My advice, update your version of gimp_gmic_qt plugin to the latest.

I tried several installations, and either I couldn't get G'Mic-Qt to show up in GIMP or I kept getting error messages. The error always appeared after installing G'Mic-Qt. After a few hours, I just couldn't give up and searched for a portable version of GIMP. Found 'oldergeeks' (like me Cool ) I downloaded it, installed it, and, relieved, it worked flawlessly. Even all the old plugins and scripts work. Happy days  Big Grin
