I would never advise reinstalling anything. Much better to find out what is going wrong.
Your earlier post was this: https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-split-...5#pid24195 but you never replied. Are you still using ubuntu 20.04 ? Gimp 2.10.28 can come from different sources, as a flatpak or from a PPA or you compiled it yourself. Which one? I have never seen that error message, so more details required. Is this using resynthesizer to make a pattern or one of the associated python plugins such as heal-selection ? Image size and precision, a screenshot of the whole Gimp interface might help.

I have it running on two different systems. My older version on Linux caused problems, needed a whole evening to install it, got it installed and suddenly had two times Gimp on my PC.
The other one where it was running without problems is running with Windows 10. There I had no problems to use it until I updated to the latest version. I can take a screenshot.

Quote:I have it running on two different systems. My older version on Linux caused problems, needed a whole evening to install it, got it installed and suddenly had two times Gimp on my PC. That is probably my fault. If you used the 2.03 zip file I provided, it had two sets of resynthesizer plugin and no python plugins. Fixed now. It should only take a few minutes to install. However it will never produce "two times Gimp" This little video covers the linux installation - kubuntu 20.04 / Gimp 2.10.28 (from PPA) https://youtu.be/BruPinzToFQ 2 minutes no audio Quote:The other one where it was running without problems is running with Windows 10. It is your description of the error that has me baffled "unable to match the color" I have never seen that before and a search of the resynthesizer code shows nothing. If you can give more details, a screenshot of image and plugin dialogue would help. I tested my extension under Windows 10 again with another pic and this time it worked without any problems. That's very strange. I will let the error happen tomorrow again and take a screenshot of it.

It's really strange. I used the pic again that I used on Thursday and did the same procedure. This time I got no problems. It's so strange.
Yesterday I worked again with Gimp and the resynthesizer crashed hard. This time I made a pic of it. Can I link it somehow in this forum?

Top of the page is a link called attachments, https://www.gimp-forum.net/misc.php?action=help&hid=11 which describes how to add an image Some restrictions on file size 500 kb.
Otherwise you can post to imgur.com and paste the link in a reply here.

Ok, I will check it. Thanks.

I found it. Thanks. It says that the resynthesizer caused too much errors and has to be closed. I just wanted to work a little bit on the background.
