reverse engineering effects

I recently made a design with GIMP. I added a standard bevel effect to text and then ripple effect. I am trying to recreate the same effect but the ripple effect does not seem right. Is there any way to open the file and see the exact settings used for the ripple (amplitude, period, angle, phase shift, etc.)?? I may have applied a ripple effect on top of a ripple effect but don’t know. Just trying to access the filter settings used. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would say chances are next to zero.  

If it is a recent edit then the settings might be in the filter history

   

If by any slim chance you used layer effects (fx) and kept them, saving your work as Gimp 3 .xcf file. Then you can open the fx in the text layer and see what was used.

Usually your history will be able to give you an idea (But probably not numbers etc) but only in the same session. You will not see this once you have closed your image - xcf or other
