There is no substitute for reading the instructions, but why don't you post what operating system and gimp version you are using, so that someone can give you a boost, as to where to look for your correct plugins folder.
This is done with the User CP link at the top right in this page under the forum banner, then in the page that appears, on the left, Your profile > Edit profile, then Additional information area. There are two places to check your OS and Gimp version. These two appear next to your name in all your posts (you don't need to fill the other info).
