The easy bit first. Get the latest Windows Gimp 2.10.32 installer.

Then Ofnuts ofn-gradient-along-path.py plugin. Just goes in your Windows User profile, the plug-ins folder
C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins
Many of Ofnuts plugins are a right-click on a path in the paths dialogue. Look down at the bottom of the context menu for the decorate entry.
Goes like this (had to detach the paths dialogue due to the length) https://i.imgur.com/94xQQ7J.mp4 Play around with the settings and the gradient.
