I followed the installation instruction to the letter, but the script is not showing up in layers/transfom or any other menu Ofnuts, I've tried both plugin folders,
I did notice that there was a "query new plugins" pop up while loading Gimp so it seems it's seeing the script, obviously I don't know enough about Gimp to go trouble shooting and I don't want to mess things up, do you have any idea where I'm going wrong?

So you unzipped the ZIP, tooks the .py and put it in one of the two plug-ins directory?

Is there a Filters ➤ Python-fu ➤ Console entry in your menus?

Yes I followed the instructions, I couldn't see it because I didn't have Python installed, that was a dry run on an old laptop I use to test installs.
I installed Python and It's up and running on that laptop now.
I'm guessing I need to learn more about layers though, I asummed I could select a wheel, from my image (well it's a tape reel actually) then rotate it, but it rotates the whole image, it's really fast so would save an awful lot of time.
I get the feeling this will have to be done with multi layers, like I say I'm a comlpete novice when it comes to image manipulation, I'm trying to learn from YouTube and help from you guys, I'm sure most people have learned the basics of IM at school with PS or whatever, but there were no computers when I went to school, it was a long time ago. ? once agian thanks for the help, every little bit helps. ?

I do not understand that bit, last time I installed python for a Windows Gimp it was a Gimp version 2.2 round about 2004 Wink However.

I guess the same.   Maybe this will help: https://youtu.be/l_7sP5TO29c  Duration 9 minutes

Some extra tools needed. So they are all from one place, using Ofnuts plugins (other scripts / plugins are available)
ofn-rotate-layer.py https://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-to...p/download
ofn-layers-to-image-size.py https://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-to...p/download
ofn-interleave-layers.py https://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-to...p/download

All python and go in C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins (or for linux users ~/.config/GIMP/2.10/plug-ins )

These can be really annoying

"I do not understand that bit " Wink understandable, but frustrating, when you have no idea that you need Python installed for those plugins to show up.

The video should be a big help, very similar to what I want to achieve, I'll download the other plugins you recomend, If they work as well as the rotate plug, then they well worth having, thanks Rich, searched many times on YouTube for wheel animation vids, but never came across that one.

Just in case any Windows user comes along and thinks that they have to install python. Python support in Gimp is already included. There has been no need to install it for about 15 years.

Probably not since I just made it a couple of hours ago.
