It works if you dont look too closely.
I think the parting is a bit off.

It really is hard to tell. Contrasting backgrounds tell the full tail while it only truly matters on the new background it will sit on. IE if the existing background is dark, and the replacing background is dark, it will be easier to make it look flawless.

I may just crop the image to the top of his head so its like the camera is focusing on him. I was thinking of a raining backgroud with a reflection of an area from the movie he never went to since he died in the first 10 minutes. That's why I was thinking of covering the missing part of his head with a rain coat but since I can't manipulate a coat over him unless I try to draw one, but I'm no good at that.

Its fine dude.
You are getting there !

This kind of stuff is pretty advanced. Im giving you my honest opinion, but it always depends on how perfect a manipulation really needs to be.
Try to show your result to three people and ask tem if they notice anything odd about it.
I bet they wont until you tell them what to look for !

It probably wont look realistic if thats what you are going for.
Look at the kid. The light is shining on the face and hair.

The roadimage has no direct light.

If you want to position him on the road you also have to deal with the reflections in the puddles.

Whats good about the roadimage is that the trees and the sky have good contrast. You might be able to replace the sky with something different.
Also you got the perspective lines on the road which might be very helpful with finding the vanishing point and adding stuff while getting the perspective right.

Cant I lowerer the brightness/contrast, levels, and curves to darken him up a bit?

Most of the pics of the house are from a front view, and it wouldn't make sense if its a front view, and he's walking away from it.

the only pic I could maybe do is this one, but its concept art not on location

You can give it a quick test.
Pasting the kid into an image takes 5minute, then you will see.
