Wait a few of days (or more) in case of more obvious bugs before updating:

Wow, the already added the new feature for blocky gradients.
That was requested only a month ago.

Thanks for the heads up. Given the bugs and issues I had when first moving to 2.10 I'll certainly be waiting a few days as you advise!

I hope performance is optimised a bit, in certain situations it's been very sluggish compared to 2.8. Some of the release notes sound promising.

First error reported for the 32 bit Gimp 2.10.8

Errors with the heif plugin (webp) support but worse try and File -> Open or File -> Export and Gimp crashes. At least it does here in my Win7 32 bit VM.

Still using Gimp 2.10.6? - stick with it for the moment - bound to be an update to the Windows installer soon.

64 bit Gimp 2.10.8 seems to work ok.

On both my PCs (both 32-bit OS: Win7Pro & Win8.1Pro) when I startup Gimp 2.10.8 I get this error:

Reinstalling 2.10.8 doesn't help.

Reinstalling 2.10.8 doesn't help.

See previous post, 32 bit installation is still broken.

At time of writing the latest is gimp-2.10.8-setup-1.exe maybe the next one will work Wink

Want to go back to 32 bit Gimp 2.8.6

Thanks rich2005!

So far gimp-2.10.8-setup.exe has done what I've needed it to anyway, so unless that stops being true maybe I'll forget about it until 2.10.9 arrives.

There are any number of bug reports about the 32 bit Gimp 2.10.8 Windows installation, it will get fixed and there will be some notification when the fixed installer arrives.

The next 'stable' release will be 2.10.10 and that might be some time.
