That is interesting, If that is from lubuntu using the 'buntu repo then it is probably Inkscape version 1.2

I can recommend  an more up-to-date version (1.4) using an appimage, look for one here bottom of the list : https://inkscape.org/release/all/gnulinux/appimage/

Hi. No, it is the latest update in windows, 1.4.2. I discovered that it happens only if you have the fill and stroke docked. If you make float, it works as your screenshot. But in gimp there is no difference if is docked or not.

Additionaly, i found that the error is related to the "mode" listing, dont matter is in the docks at right or the options of tools. Look in this screenshot, the mode has the problem, meanwhile in the same dock, the other options work ok.
