I selected an area of a png black-and-white drawing, then pasted a separate file into it and anchored it, then moved on to other parts of the image. Then I decided I wanted to scale the former pasted image bigger and unfortunately I had already saved it to send to someone, so the Edit menu was wiped out. So I ran the rectangle select over the entire pasted area (and beyond the borders as well), knowing that the existing parts of the drawing would not be wiped out and so was able to erase the pasted area. But when I re-selected the area to re-paste the file, the entire selection I had just made returned (beyond the borders as well) and so the file pastes in those parts outside the area that I want to paste into.

Is there a way to undo this selection and start fresh?

I am seeking help setting up an automation BIMP procedure to process simple gray scale files in the following way... Hopefully the illustration will help explain.


The GIMP process I need is the following simple process...

1. Open gray scale image
   
2. Select by color
   
3. Stroke selection
   
4. Save file

Hi all, downloaded and being using the new Gimp version. I have to be honest, so far, I preferred the previous version.

I have now on ly got core pointer in my bottom left tool box.
Alot of tools are now missing from top left box......I have no idea how I have done this.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it just comes up exactly the same.

Could anyone help please

I'm using gimp to apply freckle textures to a face texture for a video game. All textures are other peoples' work; I'm just pasting the freckles as a new layer onto the face and colorizing them. This is my first exposure to GIMP. I noticed that the face freckle texture is lighter than the neck freckle texture. As a result, when colorized to the same HTML value and applied to the character model, the neck freckles are much darker than the rest (example). Since the original freckle textures as greyscale, is there a way to normalize the max pixel intensity of the neck freckle texture to that of the face, so that they come out to a balanced intensity?

accidentally I changed the camera mode while taking pictures. Now I would like to use the histogram match script to change the images via script or command line command.

The tools in Gimp have disappeared up. Even if I change the visible tools in Settings, I get the same size of the toolfield.
I use Gimp  2.10.18
in Lubuntu
   

Hi guys.

Im some what new to gimp, and for a brief moment I was able to select the eraser mode to remove a specifca colour from my image. now it is blanked out and stuck on normal. Not just on this image, but all.. Any idea how to select this?

Hi, I haven't used Gimp but I'm looking for a tool that can help me with this. 

I make Kindle books featuring vintage illustrations from children's books. Many of the illustrations were printed not quite square. They look okay in the books because the margins are very large and they are not very far off from square.

But in my Kindle books I want to make the illustrations full screen. When I do so, the slight slants of some of the borders become obvious. 

In the attached example, see how the bottom border (and the text too), are horizontal, but the other three borders are not square. I don't think the artist made it that way; I think the distortion happened during the book production in 1918. If Gimp can help me warp it back into square, I think that would be closer to the artist's original work.

Any suggestions?

Greetings, folks--

I am running Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon.  I am using an AppImage of GIMP 2.10.19.

I am trying to install Resynthesizer.  I have downloaded the plugin and the gui, copied them to
 /home/peter/.config/GIMP-AppImage/2.10/plug-ins
but they still don't show up in the filters pull down menu.  What am I missing here?
