This is what happens in GIMP when I try to draw. At the beginning there's a slight discoloration using the pencil tool. How do I disable this?

I am trying to get background images for a PPT and need the image to fade from solid or nearly solid white on the left to no white about mid 16:9 image (I am overlaying blue text). I keep trying various combinations of settings, but the best I can do still ends up with a discernible edge at the end of the fade. Or, there is a thin white line near the end  of the fade.

I had a text file extracting script at one point, lost it now but I seem to remember there were a lot of options including which font, fontsize/colour, margins etc to use to display it in Gimp, very handy script, but unable to locate - hoping someone out there knows what I mean and has a copy/link to download - Thanks a lot

I was told that this plugin is very useful. However, the above link directs to GIMP Registry which says it is closed now.

It will be great to find out how to use it in Kubuntu 20.04. Thanks.

Hi,
I’m a beginner using gimp I know how to use most of the basics, I am currently trying to design my own supplement range. I have managed to create a box design in gimp and I have created a label for my supplement.

I am trying to find a way of wrapping my label around a vitamin bottle, is there any good tutorials for this?

Back in 2015 when I installed GIMP it wouldn't work scheit. I checked around and was told I should load PuTTy and Ghostscript. I am on the latest GIMP on a Win7 box, soon to be replaced with a Win10 box. Are those two programs needed any more?

Is there a way to make my brush list window stretch out to the edges of the toolbox? As it's currently set up, I have to scroll left and right to see all the details of the brush options, which doesn't make sense, as there's plenty of room.

I started learning Gimp a few days ago, so I may be overlooking an obvious solution.

Hi everyone,
I'm running GIMP 2.10.18. I've spent a long time making individual pages for a recipe book for charity and now that I've come to export them as PDFs for print the PDFs are not coming out with the layout. The main design I have on most pages is a curve shape drawn with path tool, filled in white, and in a layer group with a photo so that the photo (on multiply) fits inside the curve shape. However, when I go to export the curve disappears and the photo is in its original rectangular shape taking up half the page. It also shows ALL of the layers, even hidden ones - I have crossed omit hidden layers but for some reason it puts them all into the PDF anyway. And finally, it also gives black outlines to all of my shapes (boxes and bars) instead of just being flat.
The main problem is the photos in the curve though so if anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. I'm pretty much a graphic design novice I just enjoy doing these things and am doing it voluntarily for the charity to raise funds for them, but equally I would like it to be good! I'm sure its probably something simple that I just don't know about yet. Thank you so much in advance!
