What tools are needed to lighten up these images
Posted by: hackington - 09-17-2019, 06:07 PM - Forum: General questions - Replies (2)

Hi
I have GIMP installed on my computer but I don't know how to use it well.
Instead of me paying someone to edit my photos I would rather do it myself
The first 3 photos I have uploaded are what I had done myself by simply cutting copying and pasting the subject onto the backgrounds

all my image files are to big to upload hear. best leave it then

  Fade Size
Posted by: Espermaschine - 09-17-2019, 01:08 PM - Forum: General questions - Replies (2)

I tried to stroke a path with a Fade Size Brush Dynamics, but the result of the Spacing is inconsistent.
On the left its 100, while on the right side its 110 as expected.

The path/fade length was determined with Path Summary from ofn-path-edits.

I get the same results in 2.8 and 2.10. Is it a bug or am i missing something ?

Posted by: alain.roger - 09-17-2019, 09:57 AM - Forum: General questions - Replies (5)

Hi,

i'm a Kubuntu user of GIMP 2.10.12.
After installing gimp 2.10.12 using the flatpak feature, i discovered that i can not anymore import an image from my scanner as usually.

There is no more File->Create->Xsane or File->Create->scanner/device_xxx

How can i import image directly from scanner ?

thx

I'm updating the old interlave-layers script to support the Gimp 2.10 layers modes.

While I am at it, is there a feature that is sorely missed?

  texteditor, letters are writting overlapping
Posted by: FrauZahn - 09-16-2019, 02:25 PM - Forum: General questions - Replies (6)

Hello!
I'm a new user and it happend to be, that I cant' use a font properly. It worked, but  obviously I've changed something because now the letters are only writing at one place. And it only happens with the font I want to use.- Of course I can take an other font, but than I still don't know what I have done to my beloved font (btw it is comfortaa).
I would be very happy if somebody could help.
I've tried allready for several hours to fix that, can't find a sollution.
Best regards Frau Zahn

...my english is quiet okay I suppose but not so good to understand all technical language Smile

I've just found out, that it is between 200 px and 201 px, so it is probably the font itself?
Does anybody ever hade a problem like this?

Trying to Do Batch/Script Work on Combining Multiple Images.
Posted by: OrlandoEastwood - 09-15-2019, 05:10 AM - Forum: General questions - Replies (3)

Hello, everyone!

I am independent filmmaker who is trying to do an experiment but, I am not having the best luck. I am shooting a movie and I bought a bunch of print damage to apply to the movie that I am shooting. However, I wasn't too thrilled with how the chroma keyer worked in Vegas. So, I had Vegas extract a shot and two clips of print damage and convert each individual frame into the png format and went into GIMP and I experimented with filters to degrade frames.

This is frame 81 in my folder from the shot.

This is frame 81 in my folder from the first clip of print damage.

This is frame 81 in my output folder from applying linear light to the image of damage on top.

I did it for the whole shot which was almost 400 frames and it looks great re-inserted into Vegas. It really gives it that faded celluloid look; which is just a red image. Is there a way other than doing it frame by frame for the whole movie; which could take a year (or years depending on how busy I am)? I download BIMP but I couldn't exactly find what to do and when I tried loading something, GIMP gave me a message stating something like "Too Many Error Messages" and I have to ctrl+alt+del myself out of the program.

Edit: GIMP 2.10.8 / Windows 10

Thank you for your time.

Is there a gimp plugin that can place a few arrowheads on a path in a way that the arrowheads are following the path direction. NOT as the example below :

Thanks in advance for a solution.
