Recent folders missing from file export
#1
Hi, I just upgraded to Gimp 3.0.2 recently from one of the 2.X versions. For reference, I'm on Windows 10. I'm still getting used to the changes, but one immediately noticeable missing feature is that there doesn't seem to be a 'recent folders' option when exporting files like there used to be.

Since my folders can be a bit all over the place or buried deep in subfolders, this is a real pain, and I don't know why it was removed. Am I just missing something? Thanks.

I do not think you are missing anything. The "Recent" entry above "Home" is there in Open but not in Export

It might be an oversight, you can ask for it from the Gimp developers https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/issues

Even Gimp 3.0 Open is a bit different from Gimp 2.10 No folders showing but there is a location column. You can use + Other Locations to add to the list (but too many and it becomes unwieldy)

Thanks for pointing me to that. Turns out this is an issue that's been known about for a while, but it apparently stems from the system they're using for the interface, GTK, so they're not in a position to fix it any time soon. I didn't know about being able to bookmark directories, so I guess I'll make do with that in the meantime. Thanks!
